Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
This policy explains what Appieu collects, why, who receives it and the choices you have. Appieu is operated by Dott, LLC, 611 South DuPont Highway, Suite 102, Dover, Delaware 19901, USA ("we"). Contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, business name, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We cannot read your password.
- Business data: the files you upload and the Google Sheets you connect. This can include information about your customers, staff or suppliers if your data contains it.
- What you create: saved charts, dashboards, report schedules and results, alert rules, and which apps you ask us to connect.
- Usage counts: how many AI questions your business has asked each month and the size of those requests.
- Technical information: your IP address, used for short-term abuse limits and included in security and hosting logs.
How we use it
- To provide Appieu, including answers, charts, reports and alerts.
- To sign you in, keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
- To send emails you need, such as password resets, and the reports and alerts you set up.
- To fix problems and enforce usage limits.
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use your business data for marketing.
Where privacy laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure service, and legal obligations. [lawyer to confirm legal bases]
How the AI uses your data
When you ask a question, or a scheduled report runs, Appieu sends Anthropic what it needs to answer: your question, your column names, a summary of your data that can include example values, and the results of calculations on your data. Appieu does not send your whole file each time, but those results and examples can contain real values from it.
Anthropic states that by default it does not use commercial API data to train its models, and that it deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, with exceptions such as enforcing its usage policy or complying with the law. Please avoid uploading information you are not allowed to share with a service provider.
Who receives your data
We share data only with the providers that help us run Appieu, or where the law requires it.
| Provider | What it does | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Render | Runs the app and stores the database and uploaded files | Frankfurt, Germany |
| Cloudflare | Delivers the website, protects it from attacks, and stores backups | Global network; backups in western North America |
| Anthropic | Provides the AI that answers questions and writes reports | United States |
| Stripe and Link | Sell your subscription, take payment, handle tax and send receipts | United States and other countries |
| Resend | Sends password reset, report and alert emails | United States |
If you connect a Google Sheet, Appieu reads it from Google using the share link you provide. Anyone with that link can view the sheet, so only share what you are comfortable sharing that way.
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and Germany. [lawyer to confirm transfer safeguards]
Cookies
Appieu uses one essential cookie, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and business data while your account is open. Daily backups are kept for 14 days. You can delete an uploaded file or your whole account yourself at any time. Deleting is immediate and permanent in Appieu, though deleted data can remain in backups for up to 14 more days, and at Anthropic as described above.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and each business has its own separate workspace. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, to object to or limit how it is used, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to use these rights. If your details appear in data uploaded by one of our customers, please contact that business first, as it decides how that data is used.
Children
Appieu is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and tell you about important changes before they take effect.
